During this TechTime rotation students are being introduced to The Foos.
This part of CodeSpark Aacademy's website provides students with a fun way to develop beginning coding skills.
This time of year advertisements are everywhere trying to get us to spend our money, go places, or do things.
During this TechTime rotation, second graders are learning about some of the advertising gimmicks used to get their attention. We will also have a little seasonal fun with Elf Yourself.
Our second graders sure do!
During recent TechTime rotations second graders have been learning about their access to Google's online tools called the "G-Suite" (formerly "Google Apps for Education"). Students have been practicing using their login username and password to sign into the school's online portal which is a single sign-on to access many subscription services. We have focused on accessing the Google Drive and using Google Drawings.
What are we learning?
Second graders have been learning about the importance of staying safe online just like in the real world.
Clicky, a silly yellow robot, was our guest speaker and now we're exploring his website, NetSmartzKids, to watch videos and play games.
NetSmartz not only has great learning resources for kids, but also for teens and parents. Check it out here!
I've really been enjoying the opportunity to meet all of the second graders during our first rotation.
Students attend TechTime class once every eight school days (every-other color cycle).
