During this TechTime rotation students are being introduced to some fuzzball friends at Kodable. Can they create code to help the fuzzballs get through their mazes?
Can yOu decoDe this secret mEssage? Third graders could! This TechTime class is focusing on CODEing using unusual coding blocks like trees, houses, and streetlights. Students used Isle of Tune to create their own musical island by laying down roads and adding customized houses, trees, flowers, and streetlights. Each of these objects contained the code for a certain sound. Then students added cars to the roads and as the car drove past each item, it played the coded sound. Isle of TuneDuring this time of year we face advertisements almost everywhere we turn. During this TechTime session we will learn more about advertisements and the gimmicks advertisers use to get our attention and make us want to buy things or do things. We will also have some fun with an advergame: Elf Yourself. Our Third Graders sure do! During recent TechTime rotations third graders have been learning about their access to Google's online tools called the "G-Suite" (formerly "Google Apps for Education"). Students have been practicing using their login username and password to sign into the school's online portal which is a single sign-on to access many subscription services. We have focused on accessing the Google Drive and using Google Drawings. What are we learning?
We spend some time during every TechTime class continuing to learn about staying safe while we are online. The Three Cyberpigs is a great interactive adventure about the importance of online safety! Three CyberPigs: Privacy Playground
